The jamia of Kalon Kalatch was created by the decision of the Supreme Council of Socialist Council of Tajikistan No. 730 of 4.03.1980.
In December, 2012 on the basis of Postanovleniya Madzhlisi намояндагон the agricultural community was renamed by Majlisi Oly of the Republic of Tajikistan in “Kalon Kalatch”.
The village of Kalachay-Kalon borders on Istaravshan, villages Guli-Surkh, Chavandak, Kalay-Baland, Chorbog and Nofarach.
