Statement by the press center of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 02/01/2020 / NIAT “Khovar” /. The press center of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan reports that a citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sharipov Dalerdzhon Abdumannonovich, born in 1988, a native and resident of the village of Niyogon of the rural jamoat Burunov in the city of Vahdat, a Tajik, a higher education, published over 200 articles in the period 2013-2019 and extremist notes aimed at inciting religious intolerance
, to promote the superiority of some citizens in relation to others in terms of religious orientation.
In particular, in June 2019, Sharipov D.A. illegally published a tract of 100 copies in an underground printing house. According to the conclusion of the religious expert examination, the treatise was developed in the context of the movement “Ikhvon-ul-muslimin” (“Muslim Brotherhood”), which is recognized as terrorist in many countries of the world and aims to persuade young people to the ideology of jihad, and also encourages them to commit terrorist and extremist acts.
In this regard, given the availability of corpus delicti in the actions of Sharipov D.A. – incitement to religious intolerance and hatred, on January 28, 2020, on the grounds of subsection 18 (1) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, a criminal case was instituted against him, by decision of the I. Somoni district court of Dushanbe dated January 30, 2020 he was detained.
The investigation is ongoing.
