Press Day

Every year on March 11 Tajikistan celebrates the Day of Tajik Press. Celebration of this date originates from the date of the first publication of the Tajik newspaper “Bukhara sharif”, published March 11, 1912.
Solemn meeting devoted to the Tajik Press Day was held in the premises of the LSG in the city of Istaravshan with the participation of more than 100 veterans of the press and mass media.
The event was opened by the Deputy Mayor of Istaravshan Nigora Naimjonzoda and congratulated the participants with their professional holiday. The chairman of Istaravshan city Amirkhon read out Kurbonzoda.
Then the chairman of the Union of Journalists Union of Tajikistan Bahrom Yusupov congratulated journalists of the towns and villages of Istaravshan with their professional holiday. It was noted that with the support of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the journalists of the country are provided with very good conditions for their work, and journalists use the opportunities to highlight the achievements of the country.
Uktam Nurullo, the editor-in-chief of the “Istaravshan” NGO’s edition congratulated all people on their professional holiday, noting that the Executive Power of the city honors the work of journalists and uses them to solve the most pressing issues of society. It was expressed confidence that the media workers in the “Year of Tourism, Folk and Rural Development” will reflect the opportunities of dear Tajikistan, including its attractive nature, unique historical and cultural monuments, folk crafts, various fields of economy. Problems and proposals for their solution make a significant contribution to the progress of society and people’s lives.

A number of press veterans, chairmen of organizations, institutions and young people were awarded letters of thanks and gifts of the chairman of Istaravshan city for propagation of patriotic and patriotic ideas and active participation in political and cultural events.
