What the People Expected (Transparent Elections)

For the first time, I have observed such an election in Tajikistan.

The election was held in a completely calm environment without any problems, excessive noise and involvement of suspicious and adventurous people. On Sunday, March 1, the first spring day, the people of the country were active. Although it was a day off and everyone was on their own pursuits, the public was primarily concerned about the election. They asked each other whether they would vote or not, and also congratulated each other on the spring holiday and the future.

In fact, the event was similar to a holiday. From the faithful morning, the voices of those who were in the constituencies were heard, and the surrounding countrymen also came to the polling stations to participate in this fateful campaign to vote for their worthy candidates and contribute to their future. It should be noted that all necessary conditions have been created for holding this event and all requirements of acting legislation and regulations regulating the electoral process have been observed. Domestic and foreign observers also visited polling stations. The polling stations were crowded. This underscores the fact that the political and legal culture of the population is well-developed.

It should be noted that terrorist and extremist parties and movements, which call themselves the Tajik opposition, by any means and ways want to adversely affect the electoral process. They spread false and provocative rumors through the websites and social networks that they were convinced that elections in Tajikistan would be unnecessary. Even such rumors have been reported to international organizations and organizations. Such unfair propaganda among different groups has their reasons. For example, the party banned and terrorist Islamic radicals in Tajikistan, by 2015, would run in all elections and propose candidates. But they did not find any genuine supporters in any election campaign. So they were incapable of inciting and provocative activities. Their malicious actions are still ongoing.

One of the reasons why the March 1 elections were held in a calm atmosphere was that it was held without the participation of extremist groups. The adventure groups were not able to attend the event and pursue their unclean goals. On the other hand, elections were a large field for programs and their implementation for political parties in the country. Political parties took an active part in the current legislative framework of our country.

But we must not forget that the enemy has not lost his purpose. Abusive and extremist groups of the country have used every possible means. It is regrettable that some of the journalists of official newspapers and the websites of the country are subject to such groups for whom personal interests exceed national interests. They do their utmost to support the enemies of the Tajik nation by publishing their provocative reports. No doubt they are looking for night and day how to prepare and disseminate defamation articles about the elections. This is not their first time doing anything. But all their efforts end in failure. Because they have not found their true supporters in the crowd.
