In the city hall of the city, there was a meeting of representatives of executive bodies and law enforcement agencies with youth and adolescents and athletes on prevention of youth’s joining of terrorist organizations and movements.
Deputy Mayor of Istaravshan Nigora Naimjonzoda, head of the city’s youth affairs and sports department Askar Hotamov, representatives of the Interior Ministry and the State Security Committee in Mirkarzoda Mirhamza and Alisher Nafasov, and representative of the Committee on Religion, Traditions and Ceremonies in Ibrahimov Bahodurkhon. This time of day they expressed their views.
Meetings with youth and adolescents are organized to prevent young people from joining terrorist-extremist parties and movements, educating them in the spirit of self-knowledge and self-awareness, preventing superstition, strengthening unity and peace in the society.
1The speakers noted that the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, under the peaceful policy of the Leader of the Nation, always strongly condemns terrorism and extremism and takes necessary measures to prevent this undesirable phenomenon.
It was also noted that there are now more than 160 residents of Istaravshan, five of whom are studying non-formal religious education abroad.
Young people need to be educated so that they can learn and gain professional skills, and should not visit the Internet without the need for tricks.
The Republic of Tajikistan is the only country that has adopted the National Strategy to Combat Extremism and Terrorism for 2016-2020 and the Action Plan for its Implementation. This fact once again confirms the seriousness of the problem for Tajikistan in combating these negative factors.
